Report from the Treasurer
I believe that I have caught up with all "bills" and reimbursments for our chapter and we are sitting at an estimated $4,500 in the account. I have yet to balance it out since the last three checks went out. So that figure is an estimate but only off by a few dollars and pennies.
The EIN application has been submitted under my name for our chapter. I hope to hear back in the next 6 weeks about that.
If you have a bill that needs to be paid please let me know, or if you have not received payment for something.
In closing, I wish you all a blessed new year. I pray this new year brings us success as a chapter and as fellow friends!
I will do my best to respond to emails in a timely manner but apologize in advance if that does not happen!

Report from our PDK Foundation Representative
Foundation Representative Update,
This year has been very slow in regard to our fund raising. I plan to attend the Atlanta residency for Walden University and will be raffling off a basket of healthy environmentally friendly products as well as recruiting new members for our organization. I have recently completed a grant with the assistance of my fellow WaldenPDK colleagues to aid in the enhancement and maintenance of our online peer review journal. That will be all for now I wish everyone a blessed and joyous 2008.

Report from the Webmaster
Hello all,
I have made some long-needed changes to the discussion board styles, trying different looks for both the party page and this business page. Let me know what you think. Also, I've added an automatic datestamp on each post. This might be improved by adding the time as well, but that's complicated by the different timezones we post from, and... I wonder, is it really necessary? Will it help? As it is, the date that appears with your post is the time in the EST timezone when you click submit.
Another improvement in the discussion boards is that you can now separate longish posts into paragraphs simply by leaving a blank line between them. Previously, separating paragraphs was cumbersone, requiring you (or I) to put HTML tags in your post. I hope this improves readability and avoids frustration when posting.
One more change that is not so obvious... if you find the font size too large or small for your preference, it is NOT "hard coded" to this size; it can be adjusted, depending on your browser software. Look for a font size menu command, or try a keyboard shortcut (often the control or command key with the plus or minus key).
And finally, officers, please note that where I have put in email links so that folks can easily contact you, I have not used your actual email address anywhere on the page, or within the code for the page. It is in an encrypted form, which impedes email address harvesting software, as a way to minimize spam through the site. The drawback is that this method may be troublesome to use from a public computer, because the machine won't be set up with the user's personal email program login information, which is required to send an email. However, to copy the address to the clipboard for use in a web-based email program on a public computer, you can right-click the address (control-click on Mac) and choose "copy"; then paste into your message.
